DASY, a yellow lab pup, belonging to Texas Navy SEAL and war-hero Marcus Luttrell, was shot and killed for no reason by delinquents last April 1st at his home in Walker County. DASY is the acronym for the four SEAL team members he lost in a battle when they were outnumbered by Taliban fighters. DASY was given to Marcus to help him heal.
Tom Hunter, a concerned citizen from Newport Beach, CA, started the DASY Memorial Fund with a generous donation, in hopes that others will follow. A donation has also been made by a lady in Seattle, WA, to pay for an adoption of another dog, when Marcus is ready to do so. Thank you very much! For more information visit the Houston Chronicle article written on April 9th, 2009.
