Mission Statement:
Our
mission is to preserve the lives and well being of animals through
adoption, rescue, spaying and neutering, and education. We serve the
citizens of Walker and select neighboring counties, and we strive to
protect the health, safety, and welfare of animals, children and
citizens who reside in these communities.
Pets
of the Week:
Mimzy is a year and a half old, gray and white shorthaired cat who is very social. Sissy is a five year old female dachshund mix who has been spayed, microchipped, and is heartworm negative. Come and see these and many other pets at the Rita B. Huff Animal Shelter at 530 Bearkat Blvd. in Huntsville, TX. The adoption fee is $85 for all and includes a feline leukemia test for cats, a heartworm test for dogs, first shots and wormer, rabies shot, spay or neuter, and a microchip. We would like to invite the community to participate in our NAME THE DOG PARK contest. Also, our SPRING GARAGE SALE will be on June 2-3. Please donate items!!! The Rita B. Huff Animal Shelter still needs your help. An additional method of giving is through the Kroger Neighbor to Neighbor Donation Program. The process is easy for getting started. You will need to download the following letter, print it off, and take it with you the next time you shop at Kroger. Present the letter with the barcode for our organization to your cashier upon checkout. Every
time you shop at Kroger and use your enrolled Kroger Plus Card, Kroger
will contribute a percentage of your eligible purchases to the donation fund. Once a letter is scanned with the barcode, your Kroger Plus Card will be active for the remainder of the program year (the barcode will need to be rescanned annually after July 1st which is the beginning of the next program year). The program will link your Kroger Plus Card to the Rita B. Huff Humane Society and Animal Shelter, which will benefit the shelter each time you shop.
